How do I reset my droid incredible to factory settings?

Question by jago417: How do I reset my droid incredible to factory settings?
First off I’ve had problems with my screen where some parts of it don’t work. When I try to do the reset in the menu it asks for me to put in my unlock pattern. Problem is that the part of my screen that doesn’t work won’t let me put in my unlock pattern.
Is there another way to reset it like a hard reset or something on the computer?

Also, how can I back up all my information like settings for apps and progress in games, and also my texts?

verizon wireless website has all that info, you can also get an android app to back up all your data.
