At an Apple event at its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., CEO Steve Jobs launches the company’s new iPhone App Store. Third-party developers can build software for the device and have it distributed via the App Store and iTunes.

IMO the app store needs to be regulated and policed far better than it is atm. Too many apps slipping through the net that don’t work correctly.

What’s worse, there are apps which are straight up rip-offs, by telling lies about what they do, which is sometimes next to nothing. Take the Phone Tracker app, it claims to track any mobline in the world, when the truth is it cannot track a single phone. All it does is use the “locate” feature to show you where you currently are. What a rip-off.

Yes you need an itunes account to get the free apps, But you can make an FREE account (not linked with a credit card) And ofcourse you need to have internet to download them!

Yes you do need an account so you are able to buy things.

You need internet access of course, but you don’t need Wi-Fi to download things smaller than 20mb you can use a cellular or 3G network. Larger things need Wi-Fi.

ovi store have all I need for my nokia touch phone. Also use zedge and mobile9 to download lots of free stuff. Iphone app store is a hype. Nokia s60 are not missing good apps. Iphone are. Like free full flash suport web browser (skyfire).

falldown is a game where you play as a ball and try to keep falling down when walls push you up, mazefinger is a game where you go through small mazes as fast as possible with yer finger, openfient is an app that shows the best free games, godfinger is a game where you play as the god of yer people, lightbike 2 is a game where you try to make other bikes crash into yer light wall and avoid theres (3D), we rule i like godfinger cept its at a different angle, jelly car 1 is a puzzle game
